Brrr, was Massachusetts cold this weekend! The only reason I wore shorts on this day was because I was getting a pedicure, and pants are just a hassle to wear for that! So I froze my way to and from the nail salon, but it was great, as always!
Hopefully I will have some real pictures from this weekend's wedding to show you guys soon! Even though my dress was a little restrictive for all the dancing I did, it was really pretty!

Insta-Wedding Weekend

Monday, September 24, 2012

I have to say, my picture taking at my cousin's wedding in Massachusetts this weekend was sparse. I was too busy dancing and having an awesome time (you can see my dress here)! Hopefully I'll be able to steal some pictures from my father, since I know he was taking some!

I've technically needed glasses since I was a kid, but it wasn't until college (and staring at the computer for 22 hours a day started) that I actually sought them out. Now, I love them! I just recently picked up one pair and  now I'm looking for alternates. Glasses are accessories, and I need to be able to switch them out! Thank goodness I discovered Warby Parker. An online glasses retailer, they have an awesome service that allows you to order 5 pairs (for free) to try on at home! You have 5 days to show them to everybody, and then you send them back and order which ones you like best!  Isn't that awesome?

I decided to give it a try, and these are the frames I chose. Since my 5 days are up on Friday, I really need to make some decisions. Which pair do you best?

Marshall (my favorite!)

Remember, Remember

What do you wear on a day when you have to get up early, go deal with the incompetent badge people, on a day that actually feels like fall and is the anniversary of one of the most horrifying days of your life? If you're anything like me, soft, boyfriend-cut pants and a slouchy sweater to combat the early morning chill.
Was anyone else besides me a little disturbed by the similarities between today and 9/11? Blue sky, crisp, fall weather. Makes me think back to when I was 14 and heard what had happened while I was sitting in second period History class.

In other news, I forgot just how dirty working in a museum is. Case in point: the spot of 100-year-old GUNK that I got on my pants today. Whoops. I hope it comes out...

Friday, Friday!

Friday, September 7, 2012

Oh thank goodness it's Friday! Even though this was a short week, I am SO ready for it to be over! It's been oppressively humid and warm here and ragweed season is in full swing! Yay fall! I can't wait for October - it's my favorite month in DC. No allergies, pretty trees, apple cider, pumpkins, and Oktoberfest!!
In other news, I hurt my ankle while running this weekend (again). It's fine, but it does need to stop hurting because right now I can't wear heels. And I need to get into my heel-wearing groove because my cousin's wedding is in TWO WEEKS. And the shoes that I have are heels. This may be a problem. If anyone has any ankle pain-relieving remedies, let me know!

Hot, Hot, Hot

Wednesday, September 5, 2012

So it's September now (wha?) so in my head that means that temperatures are cooling down and trees are changing. But no. Not in DC where it is still somehow 85 every day with 100% humidity. At least it's not 110 with 100% humidity. But I really want to wear pants. And run outside! I looove running outside.
Also, I need a personal photographer. The whole tripod and manual focus thing is not my best friend. Clearly. Must.practice.more.
